Amtrust Equine RWHS Championships
AmTrust Equine has teamed up with the British Horse Society and British Riding Clubs to offer riders a truly unique opportunity.
The inaugural AmTrust Equine RWHS Unaffiliated Championships gave British grass-roots riders the chance of a lifetime to compete at the 2009 Royal Windsor Horse Show in June 2009. Qualifiers attracted thousands of entrants, with 17 of the UK’s 23 British Riding Clubs taking part, and the winners will be returning to Windsor in August 2009 to receive their trophies in front of the capacity crowd expected for the FEI European Jumping & Dressage Championships 2009.

The AmTrust Equine Senior Novice Jumping Championship was won by Miss Rosie Stevens from Suffolk on Gracie. She said: “It was a superb event and to make things even better I was the winner of the Senior Novice Unaffiliated Topscore Round 3 and then winner of the Championship! I am absolutely over the moon and haven't stopped smiling since, it was a fantastic opportunity just to attend the show never mind win at it. The rug presented to me and my amazing horse Gracie was fabulous. Thank you once again to everyone at AmTrust Equine.”
The AmTrust Equine Senior Intermediate Jumping Championship winner was Rachel Horton Bacon on Salandra, while 16 year old Sally Lyons on Snapdragon (also known as Billy) stopped revising for her 10 GCSEs long enough to win the AmTrust Equine Junior Novice Jumping. Hollie Leathem from Blackheath in London on Million Dollar Pony won the AmTrust Equine Junior Intermediate Jumping Championships.

Amtrust Equine Proud To Support Wayne Garrick
AmTrust Equine is thrilled to be sponsoring up-and-coming eventer, Wayne Garrick. 28 year old Wayne had a great first outing of the 2009 season at Gatcombe Horse Trials coming 6th in the Intermediate Novice Section on eight year old Flyte. Their previous form was 3 wins at Novice and finishing in the top 20 at Weston Park 1* in 2008.
Wayne says: “I’m so lucky to have AmTrust Equine as my principle sponsor. AmTrust Equine is a great insurance company that really understands horses and the highs and lows of ownership.”
Team Garrick is based near Chipping Norton and Wayne will be competing at Bramham and Blenheim this year. Wayne caught the ‘equestrian bug’ aged 7 and progressed through Pony Club and Riding Club gaining his PC ‘B’ test and his BHS Stage III along the way. He has been teaching for many years and to date has competed at Advanced Medium Dressage and 3* Eventing.
