How to claim
Call us on 0845 459 8990 and speak to one of our friendly team who will guide you through the process and prepare your claim forms. Your forms will be sent to you for completion with a request for any supporting documentation such as invoices. Alternatively, you can complete our on-line claim form request and we will send a form to you in the post.
Don't worry if you decide not to go through with the claim, we keep our files open and the fact that you have given us notification means that you have up to 12 months to claim for the incident before the file is closed.
You must notify us of any condition, injury or occurrence that could give rise to a claim within 60 days from the date the incident occurred – in the case of veterinary claims, the 60 days will be deemed to have started on the date your vet was first contacted.

- In the event of a claim you will be responsible for paying the excess amount noted in your Certificate of Insurance.
- In the event of death or humane destruction you must at your own expense arrange for a post mortem examination immediately.
- We will require your horse's passport in the event of a death claim.
- Many veterinary fees claims are ongoing, however you need only to complete on set of forms per incident and forward the invoices of the accepted claim.
- We should be notified of any referrals for alternative therapy. Such referrals must be by your vet.
- If your horse is referred to a specialist equine clinic you must inform us as soon as possible.
- We will require proof of purchase in the case of theft claims.
- For theft of saddlery or tack items, valuations are a good idea to have on file if you do not have a proof of purchase.
- In the event of theft – you must report the incident to the police immediately (or within 24 hours) and obtain a crime reference number.
- Claims payments can be made direct to your vet, if you prefer.
